Important Message for Holt retailers…

White Fairy LightsOnce again, as the dark evenings invade, it is time to talk sparkly white lights!

We politely request WHITE LIGHTS (LED) only please. On masse, the visual impact is stunning.  Coloured lights can all too easily become the spectacle. Use white lights to pick out the features of your property, make your business and its contents the visual feature of your display.

Try the website lights4fun.co.uk for purchasing lights.  Get in early, demand will outstrip supply! Call C&O Electrical for a quote to install or look up a local electrician in the yellow pages, Holt has many!

Use a time-clock so that no retailer’s lights are still blazing at breakfast time each morning, everyone will know who you are!!! Switch-on is at 6.30pm, not as soon as it gets dark! A year of hard work by your committee, the evening’s event schedule and all of Holt’s thousands of extra visitors are geared up for total darkness turning into festive light at this time.

Edgefield Nursery will deliver FREE 5ft trees for those with holders attached to their premises who have donated or we can arrange for £7.50 each.  Please let me know your requirements. It would make quite a dramatic impact if all 35 holders throughout the town were full!

Although I now work at Country and Eastern, The Old Skating Rink, Norwich, I am available to field any queries by telephone in normal working hours on 01603 663890 or by emailing sales@countryandeastern.co.uk. I still reside on Holt high street and can meet any retailer 6pm onwards on working nights.

I will be attending the next Holt Chamber of Trade meeting on 4th November, am available on the 13th or 21st November and will be in Holt for the full day of the lights itself.

Give just a little time, thought and investment to the 25th and make sure, individually, you are ready for all those extra visitors that this special evening and the weeks over the festive season, generates.

You can’t buy this sort of publicity for your business. Make the most of it!

Sarah Tribe,
Representative on the Lights Committee for LIGHTS and TREES.
