The Holt churches will be open during the Christmas Lights Evening. Soup & hot drinks will be available at the Methodist church and mulled wine and minced pies in the Parish Church.

Important Message for Holt retailers…

White Fairy LightsOnce again, as the dark evenings invade, it is time to talk sparkly white lights!

We politely request WHITE LIGHTS (LED) only please. On masse, the visual impact is stunning.  Coloured lights can all too easily become the spectacle. Use white lights to pick out the features of your property, make your business and its contents the visual feature of your display.

Try the website lights4fun.co.uk for purchasing lights.  Get in early, demand will outstrip supply! Call C&O Electrical for a quote to install or look up a local electrician in the yellow pages, Holt has many!

Use a time-clock so that no retailer’s lights are still blazing at breakfast time each morning, everyone will know who you are!!! Switch-on is at 6.30pm, not as soon as it gets dark! A year of hard work by your committee, the evening’s event schedule and all of Holt’s thousands of extra visitors are geared up for total darkness turning into festive light at this time.

Go on, and get involved – support this year’s Holt Christmas Lights Appeal!

Byfords SnowmanIf you or your school, club, group, society or friends would like to hold a fundraising event of your own and donate the proceeds to this year’s appeal, we would be thrilled. As the lights are switched on you can think, ‘I helped to make this happen!’

You could have a car boot or garage sale, a coffee morning, cake stall, Christmas Sale, sponsored dog walk, bike ride, swim, run, etc. Hold a car wash or window washing round. The ideas are endless…

Just come up with an idea and get arranging your event. Email our fundraiser (see Contact us) with the date and type of the event and ‘get stuck in’. An official Sponsorship Form (to assist raising funds) can be supplied.

Finally, have fun and thanks a million!
